When the car pulled up to the house, she was already smiling, even before she stepped out of the car. She had twisted her hair up in a messy bun to the top of her head and he knew the moment she stepped in the house --after she was thoroughly kissed hello by their dogs-- she would be stripping out of her scrubs and into pajamas.
He met her at the door, eager for a hello kiss before the dogs realized she was there, her blue eyes shone in the sunlight and were even lighter than usual. She smiled wider and leaned in for a kiss. It was good to be home.
